About Futian District

Futian District is one of the nine districts which makes up the city of Shenzhen.  This district is home to the government and Municipal Committee of Shenzhen, as well as the city's central business district.  

 

It connects Luohu District on the east, Nanshan District on the west, and Longhua District on the north. Key attractions in Futian District are Mangrove Nature Reserve, Xiasha Village and Bi Jia Mountain.  Getting to Hong Kong takes only 15 minutes, using the Metro Line 4 and transfer MTR East Rail Line of Hong Kong at Futian Port or take the high speed trains from Futian Railway Station.

TEQUILA COYOTE’S MEXICAN FOOD AND GRILL (20-min drive)
With a lively, fun, upbeat atmosphere, Tequila Coyote’s offers some of the best Mexican food in China. The service is excellent and the staff speak Chinese, Spanish, and English. The owner is hands-on and enjoys interacting with patrons.

GREAT ART SPACE (5-min drive)
Established in 2018, Great Art Space has presented 25 contemporary exhibitions, introduced 10 talented emerging artists to the public, and has become one of the most active private art centers in Shenzhen.

SHENZHEN MUSEUM (10-min drive)
This is one of Shenzhen’s gems and is not to be missed. There are traveling exhibits from across the country, fascinating historical displays, and interactive media presentations about both China’s and Shenzhen’s history.

SHENZHEN CENTRAL PARK (3-min walk)
A very well-maintained park in the center of the city. Lots of nice paths throughout this large park. Nice place for a relaxing walk, jogging, cycling, working out on the exercise equipment and much more, any time of the year.

XICHONG BEACH

One of the most beautiful beaches in China, Xichong Beach offers activities such as swimming, fishing, and diving, with many restaurants by the beach and even BBQ pits. The beach is kept clean, often has good waves for surfing, and also offers picturesque views and fine sand, a great place for family outings.

BEYOND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

BIJIASHAN PARK 
This is one of the bigger parks in the city, but also one of the quietest. And it is one of the better choices for a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of downtown Shenzhen.

HONGHU PARK 
This park is easily accessible via metro or bus. It is spacious and offers some lovely, shaded retreats, perfect for a steamy Shenzhen day. The lotus flowers on the lakes are a beautiful sight and at times in the middle of the park, you tend to forget that you are in the middle of a massive city.

JADE GARDEN
Serving authentic Cantonese Dim Sum, Jade Garden has beautiful decoration, great service, a variety of foods and at a very reasonable price. Some customer favourites include glutinous rice, shrimp balls and shrimp dumplings.

LONGTENG SEAFOOD HOTPOT RESTAURANT
A great place to host social gatherings at, Longteng Seafood Hotpot Restaurant has great atmosphere, many dishes with beautiful and delicate arrangements, all at a reasonable price.

WINDOWS OF THE WORLD
A theme park featuring miniature-scale famous landmarks of the world. There are a few rides along with some shows as well in the park, and a mock passport can be purchased to collect stamps at each of the landmarks. This attraction is a great place for children to see the world.
