Malwina, Sales Manager at Fraser Suites Edinburgh has put together her top 10 list of the most Instagrammable sights in Edinburgh. One is from our very own bespoke suite.
Whether you climb it at dawn or dusk, the panoramic views from Calton Hill are always spectacular.
From our suites, the walk takes just 15 minutes. Simply head down the mound and turn right on Princes Street until you reach the hill.

Sculpted by artist Jean-Baptiste Jules Klagmann, this fountain has been made from cast-iron, and is a shining example of 19th century sculpture.
If you take a closer look at the base of the fountain, there are mermaids, walrus and lion heads and cherubs. At the top, four female figures represent science, arts, poetry and industry. Visitors like to take photos up close, or from further back to get Edinburgh Castle in the background.
Beautiful in the day, but also spectacular at night, Ross Fountain is definitely one to add to your must-see locations in Edinburgh. You can reach Ross Fountain in Princes Street Gardens in 5-minutes on foot from Fraser Suites Edinburgh.
A curving ribbon of cascading cobblestones punctuated with coloured buildings make Victoria Street one of Edinburgh’s prettiest terraces. As it curves down a hill, it makes for quite the unique photograph with an interesting perspective.
For a better shot, but a shot that’s less well known, take the staircase up to the second level.
Room with an instagrammable view? It has to be our very own Princes Suite, offering panoramic views of the Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street and if you are lucky, you can even spot the Firth of Forth coastal estuary on a sunny day. There are photo ops inside the suite, too. Windows are adorned with historical stained glass and the open plan living area has stunning classical design features, perfect for photo backdrops.
Aside from its Gothic buildings, cobbled streets and 12th-century castle, Edinburgh also has an extinct volcano within its perimeter.
Hike Arthur’s Seat for unbeatable panoramic shots of all of Edinburgh. It might be 823 feet above sea level, but it’s well worth the climb. From Fraser Suites Edinburgh, it should take under an hour to reach the top.
Discover history dating back nearly 350 years and explore over 10,000 species of plant during a visit to The Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, one of the best botanical gardens in the world.
While most of the gardens are free to visit, there is an entry fee for the Glasshouses, but the cost is worth it for the beautiful photo opportunities. The Garden is easily accessible from the City Centre, just one mile north of Princes Street.
Edinburgh’s stunning Dean Village, a 25-minute walk from our suites, was once a prosperous hamlet with eleven working mills on the strong currents of the city's river.
Today, it’s an oasis of calm in the city, bursting with beauty, character and instagrammable streets.

In the two buildings, known as Modern One and Modern Two, masterpieces by Picasso and Warhol hang alongside artworks by Scottish artists.
During your visit, be sure to saunter through the many rooms and stroll in the stunning sculpture garden for the best photo ops.
If you’re on the hunt for instagrammable streets, be sure to add Circus Lane to your list.
Circus Lane is located in the historic Stockbridge area and was built when the New Town was being extended in the 1760s. In those times, only the rich and wealthy could afford a house of that magnitude in this area.
To avoid any crowding, or unfortunate photobombing, try visiting at late afternoon or at sunset. From our suites, the walk takes just 15-minutes to Circus Lane.
