From carnival rides to carolling choirs, gingerbread to mulled wine, it’s an annual experience not to be missed. Here are some of the best Christmas markets in Europe to visit.
Running for over 40 years, Spandau Christmas Market is Berlin’s largest traditional market, with up to 400 wooden huts selling everything from roasted almonds and mulled wine to artisanal handicrafts. Visitors can also enjoy free stage performances, a Christmas nativity scene complete with live animals and, of course, a majestically illuminated fir tree.
