Singapore, 13 October 2006 - Frasers Hospitality (Frasers), an international branded serviced residence management company with premier residences in major gateway cities worldwide, is recognised with the People Excellence Award 2006, for its outstanding people development approach and best practices in establishing and deploying the people excellence framework.
This year, Frasers is the only Hospitality company and the first in the branded Serviced Residence industry to receive this prestigious award. Being the highest accolade conferred upon the best of the bests People Developers, the People Excellence Award recognises and celebrates organisations in their attainment as models of excellence and whose exceptional people development approach has contributed significantly to business excellence. Conferred by SPRING (Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board) Singapore, the award is part of the Business Excellence Award 2006.
“Frasians make the Fraser brand. Human capital is therefore Frasers’ greatest asset. We believe that our brand promise, ‘Where you’re more than just a guest’ can only be felt when Frasians exude an infectious sense of camaraderie. To that end, we have established within Frasers, a work culture that encourages a sense of personal worth and dignity, mutual respect and understanding, sincere and perceptive service from the heart,” said Mr Choe Peng Sum, Frasers’ Chief Operating Officer.
Elaborating on the award win, Mr. Choe says, “It is our honour and privilege to receive the People Excellence Award 2006. The award belongs to every single Frasian whose genuine devotion to hospitality and unrelenting pursuit of excellence has shaped Frasers Hospitality and synergised our corporate initiatives with our vision to achieve our business objectives. It marks a significant milestone for the organisation.”
Frasers is a values-based organisation that adopts a total approach to learning and deployment of the company’s Human Capital 7S Strategy. The strategy closely links human capital efforts with business objectives and is a comprehensive framework that includes the structure, systems, style and skills required for Frasers’ local and overseas staff to develop shared values and vision. It also forms the foundation for the organisation’s ROC.IT values to cascade to all staff through various channels of staff engagement and motivation, training, coaching and mentoring.
As a commitment to training and human capital investment, Frasers aligned our human resource systems to the People Developer Standards, implementing a well-defined people development system organisation-wide and was awarded People Developer’s Standard in 2004. Since then, the impact of Frasers’ organisation-wide deployment of its Human Capital 7S Strategy on business performance continues to yield positive business results, with people as the main asset of its business. It continues to register improvement trends in business results through key indicators such as strong occupancy rates of its Serviced Residences in the 90 percentile, consistent and high customer satisfaction levels and staff morale, overseas expansion and business growth.
