Fraser Suites wins Top Awards
12 Aug 2005 - Seoul, South Korea

Property to be renamed Fraser Suites Insadong, Seoul to reflect its unique location in Seoul's cultural and historic heart

Seoul, South Korea, 12 August 2005 – Fraser Suites Rodamco Place, Seoul, a part of the Fraser global network of gold standard serviced residences has recently won prestigious brand awards from two of South Korea’s leading newspapers, and both for the fourth consecutive year.

The awards bring this international brand of serviced residences to the country’s forefront. Besides the two recently won, Fraser Suites also received another two awards earlier this year, bringing the total number of accolades in the first half of 2005 alone to four.

Fraser Suites was selected as the best international serviced residence in The Korea Herald’s Best Brand Awards. Fraser Suites was the choice of some 3,000 readers who took part in the newspapers survey conducted between 26 May and 7 June.

The Korea Times, another major English-language national daily, also named Fraser Suites as the best luxury serviced residence. The results of the paper’s Best Brand Hotels were obtained from 2,500 respondents to its web-based survey. This award is particularly significant as the majority of the respondents – over 1,600 – were foreigners or Koreans living overseas.

“As an international hospitality brand for extended stay – between two weeks and two years – Fraser understands the little things that make for quality hospitality,” says Fraser Suites General Manager Ms Sallin Heng. Earlier this year, Fraser Suites also won the Korea Quality Management Award from the Seoul Economic Daily, as well as the Global Management Prize from Herald Business Korea.

“We have been recognised for both our brand and our management which is a very potent combination,” said Ms Heng. With strength in both critical business areas, it is no wonder that occupancy at Fraser Suites has exceeded 90% as compared to the industry average of 70%.

“South Korea’s economy is growing and the number of business visitors and executives on overseas assignments has increased significantly. These executives on medium- and long-term projects are our target market.”

“Hotels provide limited space for extended stay which is anything longer than two weeks. At Fraser Suites, we offer a lot more space and with facilities like kitchen and separate bedrooms, we offer the space and comforts of home,” said Ms Heng, who is the first female General Manager of an international serviced residence in South Korea.

“Beyond the space and rooms, we also offer customised living spaces, like designing themed rooms for children or a SOHO (small office home office) setup. For executives travelling with their spouse or family, Fraser Suites also offers activities and events to make them feel more at home,” she said.

Fraser Suites’ free broadband connections throughout the building are also very popular with the business guests.

“With our prime location in the traditional art and cultural hub of Insadong, in central Seoul, we are also ideal for tourists visiting South Korea. Fraser Suites is unique in being located at this very lively and colourful area.” In line with this, Fraser Suites will be renamed to reflect this location. From Fraser Suites Rodamco Place, Seoul the property has been renamed Fraser Suites Insadong, Seoul.

And while it is near a historic centre, residents at Fraser Suites enjoy modern business and recreational facilities such as a rooftop driving range, an indoor heated swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness club, and child-friendly facilities amongst others. Not to mention first class award-winning service.

Besides Korea, Fraser’s international network includes key gateway cities in Singapore, China, Thailand, The Philippines, France and the United Kingdom; and new properties emerging in Australia and the Middle East.
